Jennifer Silva Brown serves as Professor of Psychology and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Drury University, where she has been a faculty member since 2009 and assumed the deanship in 2017. Her work bridges academic leadership with hands-on research in community health psychology.

Research Focus: Dr. Silva Brown's laboratory investigates post-disaster recovery in adults through longitudinal studies like the Joplin Impact Project (analyzing EF-5 tornado consequences) and collaborations with LSU on Hurricane Katrina/Rita's effects on elderly populations. Her integrative approach combines psychoneuroimmunology, community intervention strategies, and ecopsychology to examine physical health and psychosocial resilience.

Research Infrastructure: Her lab maintains active partnerships with the Louisiana Healthy Aging Study and LSU, while directing Drury's Behavioral Sciences research initiatives focused on trauma response and community health interventions.
