Jennifer Sheppard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at San Diego State University (SDSU), where she also serves as Graduate Adviser. She holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University (2003) and has taught at SDSU since 2013. Her academic career includes roles at New Mexico State University (2003–2014), where she directed the Design Center and held various leadership positions.

Professional Contributions: She co-authored Writer/Designer: A Guide to Making Multimodal Projects (2014, 2021) and has published widely in journals like Computers and Composition and Kairos. Her research addresses institutional change, design pedagogy, and community engagement.
