Elizabeth A. Monske is a Professor in the Department of English at Northern Michigan University, where she has been teaching since 2007. She earned her Ph.D. in English (specialization in Rhetoric and Writing, cognate in Technical Communication) from Bowling Green State University, following an M.A. and B.S. from Central Michigan University.

Monske's research focuses on online education and faculty training, with a strong emphasis on digital rhetoric and technical communication. Her work explores the intersection of technology and pedagogy, particularly in areas such as eportfolios, digital identity, and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).
She has published in prominent journals including Kairos, Computers and Composition, and Journal of Educational Technology and Society. In collaboration with Dr. Kristine L. Blair of Youngstown State University, she co-edited the forthcoming collection Writing and Composing in the Age of MOOCs (IGI Global, 2017). Her professional activities include presenting workshops on digital pedagogy and technical communication at conferences and faculty seminars.
