Associate Professor Jennifer Schulz (formerly Moore) is a multidisciplinary academic at the intersection of health law, torts, and public health. Holding a PhD in Public Health/Epidemiology from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, an LLB from Victoria University of Wellington, and an MA from the University of Canterbury, she serves as an Associate Professor at UNSW Sydney's Faculty of Law & Justice and collaborates with UNSW Medicine in teaching, supervisory, and research roles. A recipient of the KPMG Inspiring Teacher Award (2018) and runner-up (2017), her career spans institutions including Stanford University, University of Otago, Monash University, and Hebrew University.
Her research focuses on empirical and socio-legal methodologies applied to health law, coronial systems, medical malpractice, and law-science-technology intersections. She has worked with global institutions like Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre and the NZ Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Scientific awards include the Sylff Leadership Initiative Award (2018-2020), Harkness Fellowship (2015-2016), and 17 academic scholarships from 1999-2010. She supervises PhD candidates in areas spanning dementia care, coronial systems, and public health law.
