Jennifer S. Hong, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She serves as Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship Director and Co-Director of the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Program, Maryland's only multidisciplinary clinic for eosinophilic disorders collaborating with Pediatric Allergy.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Community Health from Tufts University (2008)
- Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from University of Maryland School of Medicine (2014)
- Pediatrics Internship & Residency at University of Maryland Medical Center (2017)
- Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Fellowship at University of Maryland Medical Center (2020)
Dr. Hong's research centers on Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE), specifically investigating pharmacologic and biologic therapies to address the absence of established treatment guidelines. As an active member of NASPGHAN's EOE and Eosinophilic Disorders Special Interest Group, she has delivered grand rounds presentations to advance medical understanding of rapidly evolving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for this increasingly prevalent condition.
Through her leadership in the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Program and fellowship training, she integrates clinical care with research to improve patient outcomes while mentoring future pediatric gastroenterologists.
