Glenn Furuta

Dr. Glenn Furuta is Professor of Pediatrics-Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine. He serves as Section Head of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Director of the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Diseases Program at the Digestive Health Institute, and holds the La Cache Endowed Chair for GI Allergic and Immunologic Diseases.

His work has significantly advanced the understanding and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis and related disorders through translational research connecting laboratory findings to clinical applications. He has pioneered minimally invasive diagnostic techniques like the Esophageal String Test and contributed to the development of clinical severity indices for these conditions.

His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on molecular mechanisms of eosinophilic esophagitis, clinical trials of dietary interventions, and development of biomarkers for disease monitoring.
