Evan S. Dellon

Evan S. Dellon, MD, MPH, is a Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill within the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with an additional appointment as Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology. He directs the CGIBD Clinical Research Core and the Center for Esophageal Diseases and Swallowing, focusing on eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and EGIDs.

Dr. Dellon’s research spans epidemiology, pathogenesis, and clinical trial design for EoE/EGIDs, with over 400 peer-reviewed publications. Recent work includes leading international consensus guidelines for EGID nomenclature and the 2025 ACG clinical management guidelines. His studies emphasize biologics, diagnostic standardization, and multicenter collaborations.
