Jennifer S. Albrecht

Jennifer S. Albrecht, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health at the University of Maryland. She serves as Director of Clinical Research Education Programs and Co-Director of the Pilot and Exploratory Studies Core of the Claude D. Pepper Center. Dr. Albrecht is an epidemiologist specializing in pharmacoepidemiology, administrative claims analysis, and health services research. Her primary research focuses on older adults with programs in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and sleep disorders, with cognition as a cross-cutting theme. Her work examines recovery trajectories post-TBI, factors influencing recovery, and interventions to optimize outcomes, utilizing both prospective cohorts and retrospective analyses of large administrative datasets.

Her recent publications demonstrate strong focus on TBI outcomes in older adults, particularly examining dementia comorbidity, socioeconomic determinants, racial disparities in rehabilitation access, recovery trajectories, and methodological considerations in TBI research. Additional work addresses sleep disorder management in military populations.
