Professor Jennifer Quint is a Professor of Respiratory Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London, and an Honorary Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She leads the Respiratory Electronic Health Record group, focusing on leveraging electronic health records to study respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease. Her work emphasizes improving data quality, linkage, and application for clinical and policy purposes, with particular interests in cardiorespiratory interactions, disease prevention, and management. She is also Associate Director of the HDR UK A+LUK Respiratory Data Catalyst and Analysis Lead for the National Respiratory Audit Programme.
Prof Quint holds leadership roles as Deputy Director (Academic) of the Early Career Research Institute (ECRI) and co-leads the HDR UK Inflammation and Immunity Driver Program. She serves as Joint Editor-in-Chief of Thorax, a leading respiratory journal. Her research spans air quality, healthcare data strategy, and global public health education, including contributions to the Global Masters in Public Health program.
Her scientific awards include Fellowships from the Higher Education Academy and the Royal College of Physicians. Key research themes include respiratory data infrastructure, cardiovascular-respiratory comorbidity, and long-term outcomes of COVID-19. She collaborates widely with institutions like the Royal College of Physicians and NHSEngland, driving national initiatives such as the Respiratory Data Strategy.
Prof Quint’s work bridges clinical practice and population-level data analysis, with a focus on translating evidence into policy and improving healthcare resource allocation. She has pioneered studies on asthma, COPD exacerbations, and the health impacts of environmental pollutants, leveraging machine learning and probabilistic bias analysis to enhance data reliability.
