Dr. Rudy Sinharay serves as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London's National Heart and Lung Institute (Faculty of Medicine) and works as a Consultant Respiratory and General Medical Physician at St Mary's Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He leads the Trust's lung cancer multidisciplinary team and operates specialized pleural and respiratory clinics.
His educational background includes specialist respiratory and internal medicine training at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, and University College London Hospital. He earned an MD(res) from Imperial College London for research on air pollution impacts in COPD and ischaemic heart disease patients at Royal Brompton Hospital.
Research spans Respiratory Diseases (focusing on airway diseases, pleural conditions, and COPD), Oncology and Carcinogenesis (lung cancer service leadership), and Toxicology (air pollution health effects). Clinical expertise includes interventional bronchoscopy, EBUS, and pleural interventions with emphasis on translational applications.
As lung cancer service lead, he coordinates a multidisciplinary clinical team managing diagnostics, treatment pathways, and patient care protocols across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust facilities.
