Jennifer Nash is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Dakota State University's College of Education & Human Performance. She joined the faculty in 2005 and focuses on science education, particularly leveraging technology to enhance K-12 student learning in STEM and content literacy. Her teaching spans K-12 science methods, STEM, and earth/physical science. She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota (2004) and a B.S. in Biology from Minnesota State University, Mankato (1996).
Her research interests include integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into online instruction, using picture books and the 5E Instructional Model for hands-on science, and applying technology tools in K-12 and higher education. Her work emphasizes accessibility, interdisciplinary units, and STEM pedagogy.
Jennifer has secured grants such as the NSF-funded South Dakota EPSCoR Track I Sub-award (2019-2023) and has received awards including the 2017 DeWayne Mork Award for Excellence in Service. She actively presents at national and regional conferences, focusing on technology integration, content literacy, and STEM education strategies.
