Dr. Jennifer Morgan Flory serves as Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. She conducts the University Chorus and the auditioned Max Noah Singers, while teaching courses in choral and vocal music education and conducting.
Her research interests focus on choral music, with particular expertise in contemporary choral repertoire. Dr. Flory specializes in works by American composers for treble voices and has conducted extensive research on New Zealand composer David Hamilton, who has written over 350 choral works. Her scholarly work addresses gender equity issues in choral music, noting that while women significantly outnumber men in choral singing, female conductors, composers, and academics often face marginalization in the field.
Her publications reveal a strong focus on cataloging and analyzing choral repertoire, particularly the comprehensive works of David Hamilton across various accompaniment configurations. Her research demonstrates expertise in both sacred and secular choral music from diverse cultural contexts.
