Jennifer Mongold is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean in Academic Affairs at King University, serving as the Program Director of the Criminal Justice Program. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Safety Leadership – Criminal Justice (Capella University, 2015), and master's degrees in Clinical Psychology (2008) and Criminal Justice (2006), both from East Tennessee State University, alongside a B.S. in Criminal Justice/Criminology and Psychology (2004).
Her research and professional focus revolves around restorative justice, criminal justice systems, and psychological interventions within correctional settings. She previously worked as a restorative justice mediator in juvenile courts and taught part-time before joining King University full-time in 2011. She teaches courses in criminal justice theory, research methods, and restorative justice.
Mongold’s work emphasizes repairing harm through restorative practices rather than punitive measures, advocating for victim-inclusive processes while holding offenders accountable. She actively mentors students in both traditional and GPS (Graduate Programs for Students) tracks, guiding them toward their academic and professional goals.
Outside academia, she resides in Gray, TN, with her sons and remains active in her church and community.
