Dr. Jennifer Marlon serves as the Executive Director of the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions and a Senior Research Scientist at the Yale School of the Environment, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University.
Her educational background:
- Ph.D. in Geography, University of Oregon
- M.S. in Geography, University of Oregon
Her research expertise lies in climate change, wildfires, and risk communication. She develops innovative geospatial tools and visualizations to communicate climate science to diverse audiences, including the Yale Climate Opinion Maps and Climate Change Opinion Explorer. Her work has been published in top journals such as Science and Nature Climate Change.
Dr. Marlon previously directed data science at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, where she created influential resources like the Six Americas Super Short Survey (SASSY) and Heatwave Risk Perception maps. She currently leads the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions, applying spatial analysis to environmental challenges.
