Jennifer Mackay is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, Nottingham Trent University. She specializes in forensic psychology and forensic mental health, with a focus on intimate partner violence (IPV), trauma, and offending behavior. Mackay co-leads the Qualitative Forensic Lab and directs the 'PriSim' prison cell simulation suite.
- Teaching: Undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses, including Forensic Mental Health (MSc), Psychology (BSc), and the Doctor of Psychology in Forensic Psychology.
- Research: Investigates evidence-based interventions for IPV perpetrators, trauma-informed practices, and policy development in domestic abuse.
Key Research Themes: Her work explores gender differences in IPV perpetration, risk factors for female offenders, legal definitions of sexual violence, and knowledge exchange with criminal justice partners. She collaborates with HMPPS, Leicestershire CAMHS, and the MoJ's Correctional Service Accreditation Panel.
