Jennifer MacLeod

Professor Jennifer MacLeod is Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and holds a Professorship in the School of Chemistry & Physics. She specializes in surface science, nanoscience, and materials characterization using techniques like scanning probe microscopy and XPS. Her research focuses on molecular self-assembly, graphene, and 2D materials.

• Education: PhD and MSc in Physics from Queen’s University (Canada).
• Professional Roles: Holds DECRA Award, member of Australian Institute of Physics, and teaches physics courses including SEB122 and PVB321.

Research interests include reactions at surfaces, nanomaterial synthesis, and energy applications. She leads projects on 2D metal-organic nanomaterials and battery materials. Over 40 publications span topics like thermoelectric devices and graphene heterostructures. Awards include an ARC DECRA (2015). Active in supervision, guiding PhD students in areas like graphene-based materials and electrochemical systems.
