Jennifer Kritsch

Jennifer Kritsch is an Associate Professor of Education and Director of Special Education at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she has served full-time since 2012. Her 21 years of K-12 experience as a general education teacher, special education teacher, and special education administrator provide teacher preparation candidates with critical real-world perspectives in educational settings.

Her educational background includes:

• Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University
• M.A.Ed. in Special Education Emphasis from Point Loma Nazarene University
• B.A. in Special and Elementary Education Emphasis from Northwest Nazarene University

Dr. Kritsch's research centers on special education with current focus on instructional design strategies for student veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI), alongside planned future research in trauma-informed teaching practices. Her expertise manifests in courses including Introduction to Special Education, Instructional Strategies for Students with Learning Disabilities, and Methods for Teaching Students with Emotional and Behavioral Problems, reflecting deep engagement with diverse student needs.

Dr. Kritsch actively contributes to educational communities through Calibrated TPA scoring, special education consulting for local private and charter schools, and leadership of a high school girls' Bible study group, demonstrating commitment beyond academic responsibilities.
