Jennifer Kirkpatrick Robbennolt is the Alice Curtis Campbell Professor at the University of Illinois College of Law and a Psychology Affiliate at the Center for Social & Behavioral Science. She holds a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law, an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska, and a B.S. from Willamette University.
Her research focuses on the intersection of psychology and law, particularly in tort law and dispute resolution. She explores cognitive processes affecting legal decision-making, including how laypeople perceive legal concepts and how psychological factors influence litigation outcomes.
Notable honors include the ALI Member designation (2021), American Psychology-Law Society Dissertation Award (1998), and Carroll P. Hurd Award for Scholarly Excellence (2022). Her work frequently addresses topics like political polarization, legal pedagogy, and the psychology of tort law.
