Dr. Jennifer Johrendt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor, and currently serves as the Associate Dean of Student Affairs (WINONE). She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor (2005), an M.Sc. in Mathematics and Engineering from Queen’s University (1994), and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics and Engineering from Queen’s University (1992).
Her research focuses on vehicle dynamics simulation for durability and ride/handling optimization, neural network-based material characterization for composites, lightweighting strategies in automotive design, engineering education methodologies, and driver modeling. She leads the Vehicle Dynamics and Control Research Group.
Johrendt is affiliated with numerous professional organizations including Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Her work bridges advanced materials science with automotive applications, emphasizing data-driven simulation tools and experiential learning in engineering education.
