Jennifer Johanson is an instructor of environmental science at Alverno College, teaching courses including Environmental Geology, Earth Science, Chemistry Foundations, Sustainability and Technology, and Integrated Science since 2003.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Geology from University of Minnesota - Duluth
- Master of Science in Geosciences from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
- PhD in Geosciences from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Her research focuses on Environmental Geology and Hydrogeology, particularly stormwater management and urbanization impacts on waterways. Notable projects include the 2006 Alverno College Rain Garden Demonstration (with Wisconsin DNR/EPA) to reduce campus runoff and the 2016 residential survey on downspout disconnection with local businesses.

She maintains active memberships in the National Science Teacher Association, Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers, Geological Society of America, and UWM GIS Council.
