Jennifer Henson

Jennifer Henson is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Bethel University, appointed in 2023. She holds dual appointments across the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Adult and Professional Studies, and Graduate School. Previously, she served as part-time faculty at Baylor University and provided clinical services at Oceans Behavioral Hospital in Waco, Texas.

Her educational background includes:

• B.F.A. from Abilene Christian University (1996)
• M.S.W. from Baylor University (2016)
• Ph.D. in Social Work from Baylor University (2024)

Dr. Henson's research centers on autism and social work practice, with emphasis on transition-age youth. Her work explores clinical social work methodologies, neurodivergent practice frameworks, and intellectual/developmental disability interventions through multimodal assessment of clinician practices.

She maintains an LMSW license, EMDR certification, and active membership in the National Association of Social Workers and National Association of Christian Social Workers.
