Jennifer Garvin-Sanchez serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Religious Studies within the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she has taught for ten years.
Her academic credentials include:
- M.A. in Education from Vanderbilt University
- Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary
Her research examines the intersection of religion and politics, liberation theologies, religious ethics, and peace concepts across global religious traditions, notably through her dissertation comparing Clodovis Boff and Gustavo Gutiérrez's theological frameworks.
Garvin-Sanchez maintains active community involvement as a board member of the Richmond Peace Education Center and Richmonders involved to Strengthen our Communities, culminating in a 2016 pilgrimage to India following Gandhi's footsteps.
