Jennifer Doleac is an Associate Professor of Economics at Texas A&M University and serves as Director of the Justice Tech Lab. She is also the Executive Vice President of Criminal Justice at Arnold Ventures, a philanthropy focused on evidence-based policy solutions to minimize injustice. Her academic work bridges economics, criminal justice, and technology, with a focus on prisoner reentry and public safety innovations.

Her research explores the economics of crime and discrimination, emphasizing the societal impacts of policies like “ban the box,” DNA databases, gun violence, and algorithmic risk assessment. She examines how technological tools shape public safety outcomes and policy effectiveness.
Doleac’s work has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Justice, the W.T. Grant Foundation, and J-PAL North America. She has testified before Congress, spoken at Interpol and the White House, and contributes to public discourse via her Twitter handle @jenniferdoleac and the “Probable Causation” podcast.
