Jennifer Dent is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships at the University of Sunderland. She holds dual registration as a Nurse and Teacher with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). With over 35 years of nursing experience, her career spans the HM Forces, pharmaceutical industry, private sector, and NHS before joining academia in 2005. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Her teaching focuses on interprofessional learning in nursing and allied health professions, aligning with the 2018 NMC standards. She supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. Research interests include higher education pedagogy, professional development, and interdisciplinary work-based learning.
Publications include a conference paper on 'Learning Power' (2008). Her expertise bridges clinical practice and education, emphasizing holistic patient care and reflective practice.
