Professor Jennifer Cook is a faculty member at the University of North Dakota School of Law, contributing to the Legal Writing Program which rose to 17th nationally in U.S. News & World Report rankings. She collaborates with colleagues like Professor Carolyn Williams and Kimberly Dasse to advance team-based learning methodologies aligned with real-world legal practice and NextGen bar exam requirements.
Her research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal ethics, particularly examining attorneys' obligations in AI tool adoption. Professor Cook co-authored a seminal article in the Kansas Law Review addressing competence, communications, and confidentiality challenges alongside data privacy frameworks across jurisdictions.
As a key figure in UND Law's Lawyering Skills Program, she integrates generative AI tools into legal education while maintaining rigorous standards for federal clerkship preparation. Her work reflects the program's national prominence in legal writing instruction.
