Jennifer Collins

Jennifer Collins is a Lecturer at the Law School, City St George's, University of London, and a practising barrister with extensive experience in family law. She was called to the Bar in 1994, is a member of Gray's Inn, and continues to practise in Sussex, specializing in complex public and private law cases involving child welfare, abuse, and domestic violence.

Her research and professional interests center on family law, particularly in areas such as public law care proceedings, fact-finding hearings, non-molestation and occupation orders, child arrangements, special guardianship, and re-location disputes. As a direct access barrister, she provides legal representation without the need for a solicitor, reflecting her expertise and autonomy in the field.

Jennifer is recognized for her contributions to legal practice and education, notably as a co-author of Family Law in Practice (12th Edition). She was listed as a leading junior in The Legal 500 from 2015 to 2017 prior to her academic appointment.
