Jennifer Clippert is an Associate Professor of Flute and Flute Area Head at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Music Department. She also serves as Director of Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, and the Flute Ensemble, while representing Graduate Programs in Music Education. Her roles include teaching, chamber music leadership, and administrative coordination within the department.
Education: BFA in Flute Performance from UW-Milwaukee (studying under Robert Goodberg), followed by MM and DM in Flute Performance from Northwestern University under Walfrid Kujala. Early training included studies with Donald Peck while in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
Research interests focus on historical to contemporary music performance, promoting modern composers, and pedagogical innovation. She actively performs with groups like the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and leads Quintet Attacca, a renowned woodwind quintet. Awards include the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition Grand Prize (2002) and recognition in national flute competitions.
Award highlights: Musicians Club of Women Farwell Award, Flute Talk Competition winner, and multiple National Flute Association competition prizes. Teaching experience includes faculty roles at DePaul University (2006-2012) and leadership in the NFA's Pedagogy Committee (2005-2008).
Performance collaborations span iconic conductors such as Daniel Barenboim and Pierre Boulez, alongside premiering works by composers like Oliver Knussen and Augusta Read Thomas. Her pedagogical legacy includes maintaining an active teaching studio and frequent guest artist engagements.
