Jennifer Clemons

Jennifer Clemons is an Associate Professor at the Pennsylvania State University, affiliated with the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Delaware University (2019), a Master’s in Energy and Geo-Environmental Engineering from Penn State (2009), and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Penn State (2002). She teaches courses such as EME 802 (Renewable Energy Systems), EGEE 102 (Energy Conservation), and EME 803 (Applied Energy Policy).

Her research focuses on energy education, solar design and finance, and applied energy policy. She specializes in curriculum development for energy sustainability and has led study abroad programs in Denmark, Switzerland, and Japan. Notably, she co-authored the 6th edition of Energy: Its Use and the Environment (2024) and contributed to NSF-funded initiatives like the National Energy Center (createenergy.org), aiming to increase diversity in energy careers.

The trends in her publications span chemical engineering, fuel processing, and environmental science, with a focus on desulfurization technologies, carbon capture, and educational resource development. Her work bridges technical energy solutions with pedagogical innovation.
