Jennifer Camille Dempsey serves as Associate Professor of Education and Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies at Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest), where she also coordinates the M.Ed. Specialty Program in Educational Technology and Online Teaching.
Her academic credentials include degrees from Duquesne University, Columbia University Teachers College, University of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts.
Dr. Dempsey's research pioneers the Theory of Virtuality Culture, examining how contemporary technologies restructure human consciousness and mediate presence. Her current work investigates generative AI's impact on educational paradigms and virtuality culture, spanning media theory, digital communication, and human-AI interaction frameworks. This scholarship bridges cultural studies with practical AI integration in learning environments.
Her publications analyze technology-mediated human presence and virtuality culture, revealing critical intersections between digital environments and societal consciousness.
