Jennifer Buxton

Jennifer Buxton serves as an Assistant Professor and capstone mentor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Rocky Mountain University (RMU), joining the faculty in August 2023. She concurrently maintains a full-time clinical position within Georgia's largest school district focusing on pediatric populations, supplemented by PRN outpatient services.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia (1997) and a Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Rocky Mountain University (2022). Professional certifications encompass Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L), Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), and Medical Acupuncture Therapist (MAT).

Specializing in pediatric occupational therapy and assistive technology implementation, Dr. Buxton integrates clinical expertise with academic mentorship. Her research interests emphasize evidence-based pediatric interventions, therapeutic technology applications, and occupational therapy education methodologies within school-based settings.

As a capstone mentor for RMU's Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, she provides comprehensive guidance for doctoral students' scholarly projects. She actively collaborates with faculty to enhance curriculum development and student support systems while balancing clinical practice responsibilities.
