Dr. Jennifer Bouey is the Tang Chair for China Policy Studies, a Senior Policy Researcher, and Professor of Policy Analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy. She also serves as Department Chair for Global Health at Georgetown University, leading initiatives on China's health systems, global health security, and U.S.-China relations. Her work spans epidemiology, social determinants of health, and gender/racial equity.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.P.H. in Epidemiology from George Washington University; M.D. from Peking University Medical School
Her research focuses on China's health policy, pandemic response, and global health collaborations, particularly during the COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS crises. She has testified before U.S. Congressional committees and advised international organizations including the World Bank Group, UNAIDS, and USAID. Funded by NIH, HRSA/HHS, and private foundations, Bouey integrates epidemiology, policy analysis, and international development in her work.
The articles she has authored or co-authored reflect trends in global health security, U.S.-China health collaborations, and anti-Asian racism mitigation. Her projects include developing tools like the China's Health Assistance Projects Overseas (CHAPO) database and China AI Exports Database (CAIED).
She leads multidisciplinary teams at RAND, including epidemiologists, psychologists, and public health educators, focusing on community-based solutions for health disparities. Her work emphasizes data-driven policy and cross-cultural health initiatives to address systemic inequities.
