Jennifer Bajorek is Professor of Comparative Literature and Visual Studies at Hampshire College, with additional affiliations as a research associate at the University of Johannesburg’s Visual Identities in Art and Design Research Centre. Her work bridges photography, postcolonial theory, and African diaspora studies, focusing on decolonial practices in visual and literary arts.
- Research areas: Aesthetic aftermaths of colonialism, migrant representation, and African-European artistic entanglements
- Teaching: Interdisciplinary courses on literature, photography, and liberation philosophies
Her publications analyze contemporary African photography, experimental documentary forms, and colonial image ecologies, with recent articles in ARTMargins and Cahiers d’Études africaines. She actively collaborates with artists and activists across Senegal, France, and the Global South.
