Nadia Yala Kisukidi is an Associate Professor of French Literature, Thought and Culture at New York University. She holds academic affiliations with multiple institutions including Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis (2016–present), where she served as Associate Professor, and the University of Geneva (2011–2015). Her research focuses on French philosophy, Africana thought, and postcolonial theory. She has curated the Yango II Biennale in Kinshasa (2020–2022) and co-authored works such as Dialogue Transatlantique with Djamila Ribeiro.
Education includes a PhD in Philosophy from Université Charles de Gaulle-Lille 3 (2010), preceded by BA and MA degrees from the same institution. She has held roles as Vice-President of the Collège International de Philosophie (2014–2016) and a fellowship at Columbia University’s Institute for Ideas and Imagination (2022–23).
Her research integrates philosophy with contemporary art and political activism, particularly in African contexts. Recent publications address colonial histories, postcolonial identity, and transatlantic feminist dialogues. She has contributed to journals like Tumultes and Multitudes, and her novel La Dissociation explores existential themes through African narratives.
Nadia’s academic leadership includes teaching at Sciences Po Paris (2020) and organizing doctoral programs in Senegal. She serves on the editorial board of Les Cahiers d’Études Africaines. Her work bridges philosophy, literature, and decolonial praxis, emphasizing interdisciplinary and global perspectives.
