Jennie Long is Professor of Criminology in the Department of Criminology at Drury University's School of Behavioral Sciences, where she has served as faculty since 1999 and held full professorship since 2018. Her teaching portfolio includes alternative dispute resolution, capital punishment, correctional systems, criminology fundamentals, judicial processes, and research methods.

Research Focus: Dr. Long's scholarship centers on domestic violence interventions and restorative justice models. Her work examines point-of-booking effectiveness for domestic violence recidivism, media representation of marginalized groups, peer mediation impacts on student development, and civil mediation applications. Current projects analyze reflective writing for juvenile offender rehabilitation and community policing efficacy against domestic violence, with ongoing evaluation of specialized courts like drug courts.
Academic Service: As faculty advisor for Alpha Phi Sigma (criminology honor society) and Relay for Life, she mentors student organizations while serving as departmental internship coordinator. Her community engagement includes leadership in Springfield Advocates for Youth (SAY), Missouri Battered Women's Clemency Coalition membership, Habitat for Humanity volunteer work, and federal prison job fair participation.
