Jennie Bristow is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Parenting Culture Studies at the University of Kent and a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Canterbury Christ Church University. Her research focuses on generations, education, and parenting culture, emphasizing generational conflict, societal discourses, and intergenerational relations. She critiques the scapegoating of Baby Boomers and explores how generational labels shape policy and media narratives.
Her academic contributions include notable books such as Baby Boomers and Generational Conflict (2015), Stop Mugging Grandma (2019), and The Corona Generation (2020). She co-edits the Generations, Transitions, and Social Change book series and is affiliated with the Generations Network.
Recent work addresses post-pandemic generational divides, university recovery, and challenges in higher education. Bristow’s research often bridges sociology, education, and policy, advocating for nuanced understandings of generational dynamics to foster social cohesion.
