Jenna Gillett-Swan

Dr. Jenna Gillett-Swan is a Professor in the School of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specializing in wellbeing, children’s rights, and participatory research methodologies. Her roles include co-leadership of the Health and Wellbeing Research Program at the Centre for Inclusive Education (C4IE) and past leadership in the Student Engagement, Learning and Behaviour Research Group. She holds prestigious roles such as Co-Convenor of the European Educational Research Association’s Children’s Rights and Education Network and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Her research focuses on child-centered methodologies, inclusive education, and the intersection of technology with children’s rights. Notable projects include the Children’s Rights in Schools Project (KRISP) and Wellbeing matters framework development. Dr. Gillett-Swan has secured significant grants including an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant and Advance Queensland Grant.

Key awards include the Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation (2019) and multiple teaching excellence awards. She has co-edited books on children’s rights and guest-edited Special Issues on digital world impacts and sustainability perspectives in education.
