Jenn Salfi RN, BScN, MSc, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at Brock University since 2013. She previously served at McMaster University as Assistant Professor and Faculty Lead for Interprofessional Education (IPE) for 14 years. Her academic affiliations include core faculty membership in the Master of Applied Gerontology (MAG) program.
Educational Background: Holds a PhD in Nursing, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Her qualifications emphasize advanced nursing practice and research methodologies.
Research Focus: Specializes in interprofessional education (IPE) innovations, nursing education strategies, teamwork dynamics in healthcare, and qualitative/mixed-methods research. She has pioneered IPE initiatives through dissection courses, communication skill development programs, and curriculum design across multiple healthcare disciplines.
Publications Highlight: Authored/co-authored 27 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focusing on IPE effectiveness, gerontology, cardiac symptom recognition, and technology-assisted caregiving. Recent work explores smart technology adoption by informal caregivers and long-term outcomes of IPE programs.
