Dr. Debbie Sheppard-LeMoine, PhD, RN, is the Dean and Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Windsor, joining in September 2021. With 30 years of experience as a Canadian educator and 15 years of international teaching, research, and project leadership, her work focuses on interprofessional learning, family assessment in simulated environments, and improving health outcomes for vulnerable women and children. She has co-led international mobility projects across Canada, the USA, and Mexico, fostering collaborative research teams and publishing peer-reviewed studies and conference presentations.
- Current research examines collaborative interprofessional practices in community health access and optimal scope of RN practice in emergency services.
- Her teaching methodologies emphasize simulation with standardized patients to enhance family assessment skills for nursing and medical students.
- Professional leadership roles include past chair of the Canadian Nurses Association Exam Committee and membership on the CASN accreditation board.
