Jeni Lee is a Research Fellow at Monash University in the Department of Human Centred Computing and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S), specializing in documentary filmmaking for social change with 15 years of professional experience.
She holds a Masters degree in Communication for Social Change from the University of Queensland, with thesis works titled Reflections on Another World and Still I Rise.
Her research integrates visual storytelling with critical technology studies, focusing on ethical AI implementation through people-centered documentary practices. She investigates how automated decision-making systems impact gender norms, climate justice initiatives, and community diversity, using filmmaking as a tool for participatory research and public engagement.
Her recent work analyzes transport mobilities through the lens of inclusive AI development, identifying industry trends and future pathways for socially responsible technological adoption in urban mobility systems.

She actively contributes to the ADM+S research ecosystem through symposium organization, visual methods workshops, and international film festival collaborations including SXSW and Adelaide Film Festival.
