Dr. Jen Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, where she serves as Deputy Director of the Strathclyde Institute for Sustainable Communities (SISC) and MRes Director for departmental postgraduate programmes. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on socio-technical transitions toward net-zero futures, emphasizing geological resources, energy systems, water sustainability, and decarbonization policy. She teaches sustainable development across undergraduate and master's curricula and provides consultancy on citizen engagement and environmental impact assessment.
Research Interests: Dr. Roberts' work integrates geoscience, engineering, and social policy to address climate challenges. Key themes include:
- Community-centered decarbonization pathways
- Life-cycle environmental/social impact assessment
- Carbon capture storage (CCS) monitoring and public perception
- Ethnographic studies of energy transitions
