معرفی
Dr. Jen Grindstaff is a Professor of Integrative Biology at Oklahoma State University (OSU), specializing in evolutionary and ecological physiology. She holds a PhD from Indiana University (2004) and a BA from Knox College (1998). Her research integrates behavioral ecology, physiology, and evolutionary biology to study life-history trade-offs in birds, particularly focusing on parental care, stress responses, and immune function. She leads the Grindstaff Lab, which explores topics like avian immunity, endocrine mechanisms, and developmental plasticity.
Dr. Grindstaff has secured over 20 grants including NSF and NIH funding for projects like 'The microbiota as a facilitator of adaptation to environmental change' (2025-2026) and 'Effects of Paternal Deprivation on Bird Offspring Development' (2019-2020). She teaches Endocrinology, Ornithology, and graduate orientation courses at OSU. Her work has been published in high-impact journals like American Naturalist and Philosophical Transactions B.
Recognition includes the 2020 Margaret S. Ewing Mentorship Award and editorial roles at Functional Ecology. She advises students on topics ranging from sibling rivalry endocrinology to climate change impacts on body size. The Grindstaff Lab collaborates widely, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to understand organismal adaptation.
