Jelena M. Acimovic

Dr. Jelena M. Acimovic is a Research Associate at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. She holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences (2012) and has been active in academic roles since 2001.

Her research focuses on pathological and toxicological chemistry, with special emphasis on protein modifications in hyperglycemia and development of clinical analytical methods. She has participated in major projects including:

• HORIZON 2020 - FoodEnTwin (2018-2021)
• EU-funded Center of Excellence project (2010)
• UNDP/USAID collaboration - SARS-CoV-2 serological testing (2020)
• IMPTOX project on microplastics and environmental toxins (2021-2025)

Her publication record (14+ articles) spans topics from methylglyoxal glycation studies to enzyme activity analysis. She maintains active involvement in the Serbian Chemical Society and Biochemical Society of Serbia.
