Jelena Kasap is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Legal History and Roman Law, Faculty of Law Osijek, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek. She teaches courses including General History of Law and State, History of Administration and Archival Studies, and seminars on women's legal status and social work history.

Her research focuses on Legal History, Roman Law, and Civil Law, particularly examining medieval legal traditions, European legal identity, and post-communist restitution. Her publications analyze historical legal instruments like free loans, manorial estates, and animal liability. She collaborates with Višnja Lachner on regional legal history projects.
Selected Publications demonstrate expertise in comparative legal analysis, medieval economic regulation, and Balkan state formation. She has presented at international conferences like the 16th International Scientific Conference on Economic and Social Development and contributes to regional legal discourse through symposiums such as Economy of Eastern Croatia – Vision and Growth.
