معرفی
Jehan Akbar is a Research Fellow in the Electronic & Nanoscale Engineering department and an Honorary Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on photonics, optoelectronics, and nanoscale engineering, with notable contributions to photonic filters, plasmonics, and laser technology. He has collaborated extensively with researchers like Lianping Hou and John Marsh on projects involving mode-locked lasers and quantum optical phenomena.
His work spans experimental and theoretical studies of optical systems, including tunable millimeter-wave generation, surface plasmon manipulation, and atomic medium dynamics. His research integrates advanced materials like graphene and semiconductor compounds (e.g., AlGaN) to explore novel optoelectronic applications. Key contributions include chirped sampled grating designs for photonic filters and investigations into superluminal propagation in magneto-optical media.
Dr. Akbar’s publications reflect a consistent output in high-impact journals such as Optics and Laser Technology and IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to optical systems and nanoscale device engineering.
