Jeffrey Wool is a Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, and a Fellow at the Commercial Law Centre. He serves as an affiliate member of the Law Faculty, University of Oxford, and as Secretary General of the Aviation Working Group (AWG), a not-for-profit international industry group. Wool was the Condon-Falknor Professor of Global Business Law at the University of Washington School of Law from 2011–2019 and co-founded its Global Business Law Institute.
Research Interests: His work focuses on the implementation of transnational commercial law (TCL) into national law, compliance with TCL treaties, and their economic assessment. He explores the historical development of commercial law, the relationship between legal institutions and political risks in transactional decision-making, and aviation financing/leasing frameworks.
Key Projects: Wool directs the Cape Town Convention Academic Project (CTCAP), Best Practices in Electronic Registry Design, and Economic Assessment of International Commercial Law Reform. He co-authored Transnational Commercial Law (Oxford University Press, 2012) and contributes to academic analyses of commercial law treaties.

Leadership & Advocacy: Wool chairs the International Advisory Board for the Cape Town Convention’s Aircraft Protocol and leads the AWG’s Global Aircraft Trading System (GATS) and ESG assessments in aviation. He also co-developed the transnational commercial law course now taught globally.
