معرفی
Jeffrey W. Keillor is a Full Professor and holds a University Research Chair in Bioorganic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Ottawa. Previously, he served as a professor at Université de Montréal (1995–2011). He obtained his PhD from the University of Alberta (1993) and completed postdoctoral studies at Brandeis University (1993–1995).
His research focuses on enzyme mechanisms, particularly transglutaminases, and the development of protein labeling techniques. He has contributed to medicinal chemistry through studies on enzyme inhibition and applications in biocatalysis. His work integrates organic synthesis, molecular biology, and kinetics, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches.
- Awards: Merck-Frosst Award (2007), Ichikizaki Young Scientist Travel Award (2000)
- Editorial roles: Canadian Journal of Chemistry, NSERC grant committee
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Organic Chemistry II and Physical Organic Chemistry, emphasizing enzymology and bioorganic chemistry.
Labs and teams: His group actively engages in protein engineering and chemical biology, with ongoing projects on transglutaminase inhibitors and intracellular protein labeling methods.
