Jeffrey Saerys-Foy

Jeffrey Saerys-Foy is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Quinnipiac University. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Sensation and Perception. At Quinnipiac, he co-directs the multidisciplinary QUWACT (Quinnipiac University Writing and Critical Thinking) program, focusing on evidence-based writing practices to enhance student critical thinking. He also served as Interim Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and remains active on its steering committee.

• Education: BA from Skidmore College, MA and PhD from Stony Brook University (SUNY).

His research centers on cognitive psychology, particularly how individuals process narratives and distinguish between fictional and nonfictional works. Recent projects explore narrative comprehension in serialized television and the application of academic writing skills to workplace contexts.

He has co-authored a publication in 2022 titled Writing Beyond the University: Implications for Fostering Writers’ Lifelong Learning and Agency, which addresses strategies for improving workplace writing through academic frameworks.
