Jeffrey A. Greene is the Interim Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development and McMichael Professor at the UNC School of Education. His academic roles include leadership in research and faculty development. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Maryland (2007), along with multiple advanced degrees including an M.A. in Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation, an M.Ed. in Education, Counseling and Personnel Services, and a B.A. in Psychology from Carleton College.
Dr. Greene’s research focuses on the Science of Learning, Self-Regulated Learning, Epistemic Cognition, and Digital Literacy. He has secured over $8 million in grants from organizations like the National Science Foundation and the Spencer Foundation. His work emphasizes leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes and critical thinking skills.
His research has led to over 100 peer-reviewed publications, with a focus on how students engage with technology, digital literacy, and the cognitive processes involved in learning. Notable contributions include studies on instructional video efficacy, self-regulated learning strategies, and the impact of technology on academic performance.
Dr. Greene is a Fellow of Division 15 of the American Psychological Association and Division C of the American Educational Research Association. He leads the CLICK Research Group, exploring collaborative learning and technology integration. His work spans educational technology, STEM education, and the design of effective learning tools.
