Jeffrey S. Carnes is an Associate Professor of Classics and Classical Civilizations at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences, serving as Language Coordinator. He holds affiliations with Classical Civilization, Classics (Latin/Greek emphasis), and Modern Foreign Languages. His research focuses on Greek lyric poetry, particularly Pindar’s use of myth to serve political agendas, alongside literary theory and gender studies.
