Jeffrey McCray, DMA, is a Lecturer of Music – Bassoon at Colorado Mesa University. He holds positions as principal bassoonist with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. His extensive teaching career includes roles at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado State University-Pueblo, Chadron State College, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Baylor University, and others.

Research interests focus on bassoon performance, orchestral conducting, and music pedagogy. McCray actively performs and presents at conferences such as the International Double Reed Society and College Music Society, and has conducted clinics at institutions including Baylor University and the Crane School of Music (SUNY-Potsdam).
He has held principal bassoon roles with major orchestras like the Minnesota Orchestra and Kansas City Symphony, and collaborates with ensembles across the U.S. and internationally, including Costa Rica’s Instituto Nacional de Música.
